What Is CBD?

What Is CBD?

CBD or Cannabidiol, is a Phytocannabinoid found in raw agricultural Hemp.

It is recognized for being beneficial in many biological processes in humans and animals. CBD is non-psychoactive (does not result in euphoric feelings from consumption) and has an extraordinary safety profile.

How is CBD Absorbed?

Cannabinoids will attach to a fatty acid, thus binding protein in order to pass through the membranes of our cells in ones body. After, the CBD will break down from fatty acid amide hydrolase, a metabolic enzyme. With this, CBD will begin interacting with the receptors and compounds in ones body.

The Endocannabinoid System

Our body is currently producing cannabinoids by itself, these are know as endocannabinoids. Due to the fact that these are naturally produced, the body already has a system for dealing with the signals it gets from cannabinoids introduced called the endocannabinoid systems (ECS). This systems will regulate our bodily finctions, such as; appetite, mood, pain, sleep, and other responses from our immune system.
There are two receptors in the ECS and they are CBD1 and CB2 receptors. The CBD1 receptors are normally located in the nervous systems. However, some can be found in the kidneys, lungs, or liver. These receptors interact with neurotransmitters and affect sensations such as appetite, concentration, and many more.
The CBD2 receptors differ from CBD1 receptors as they play a large role in the immune system. These receptors have a hand in modulating the pain sensation along with other immune responses. CBD as a whole will work with these receptors and activate or inhibit other compounds.

Legality

Hemp CBD is legal in all 50 states as it is derived from an industrial Hemp source imported under approved tariff codes as a dietary supplement. CBD derived from hemp has no psychoactive effects, which is why it is excluded from the US Controlled Substances Act and legal for industrial production. THC is hat shows up on a drug test, not CBD. However, be aware that consuming large amounts of CBD can cause the trace amounts of THC to trigger a false positive on a drug test.

Benefits

CBD is a powerful plant extract that has been used for wellness for thousands of years. CBD is one of at least 113 cannabinoids extracted from a proprietary strain of the hemp plant, not to be confused with the plant used to produce marijuana.

Many leading doctors, scientists and experts in the field believe that combining CBD with other naturally occurring cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids found in this special strain of hemp may offer a range of measurable health benefits never seen before in the food or dietary supplement industries.

Why Give Your Pet CBD?
